Della Rice, originally Della Gourmet Rice, was created by Lehman Fowler of Brinkley, AR. Mr. Fowler founded Specialty Rice Inc., and subsequently Della Gourmet Rice in 1986. Della dropped it "Gourmet" name after the retirement of Mr. Fowler in 1994.Shortly after, the Ajmera family purchased the business and continued the legacy Mr. Fowler created. The family grew the business exponentially by expanding Della products throughout the US.
Today, Specialty Rice is still family owned and operated by Stephen and Micah Hilsdon of Brinkley, AR. Stephen and Micah were both born and raised in Brinkley and have both worked in the rice industry for many years. Stephen started working for Specialty Rice Inc. in 2006 as General Manager, growing and improving business. Micah joined as Quality Manager as well. The two made the decision to purchase the business and keep the jobs in the Brinkley community so the employees they considered more as family could continue the legacy of Della Rice.
Stephen and Micah, being both from the community and having personal involvement in farming life, value their growers and take a lot of pride in the products they grow and package. Specialty Rice Inc continually strives to provide consumers with quality products, location availability, and to keep sharing this legacy from their family to yours.
