Founded by Carolina Lopez, a chemical and material science
engineer from Colombia, BEJOU’s skin care draws on Latin
American botanicals. These ingredients act as natural retinols, to
erase hyperpigmentation and dark spots while protecting the
skin’s microbiome. The moisturizer’s key ingredient is
chontaduro, a fruit native to Colombia that is high in vitamins C
and A, which acts as an antioxidant to brighten skin, reduces
inflammation, and prevents free radical damage and promotes a
healthy skin barrier. Also providing brightening benefits is rosehip
oil, while grape seed oil, rich in vitamin E, offers elasticity and
firmness. The moisturizer’s benefits span hyperpigmentation
reduction, dark spot reduction, blue light protection, skin firming,
and defense against environmental stressors.
