Food For Life Baking Company is a family owned and operated "specialty goods bakery". Our passion is natural foods. Food For Life Baking Co. originated in Glendale, California in the back of a small neighborhood natural foods store known as Foods For Life Natural Foods in 1950.
We were the first wholesale bakery in the United States specializing in natural foods and developed the first sprouted grain breads on the market with The Live Grain Difference!™
Our mission was to produce only the highest quality baked goods from the finest natural ingredients for optimum health and nutrition. At a time most commercial bakeries were offering the public only highly refined white breads, we took on a whole new direction to make what nature intended, better!
We achieved this through our exclusive sprouting techniques. As with any good product, word spread quickly, and we began to develop quite a loyal following for the products we produced. In the early days, customers would drive from many miles away to experience the unique flavor and a nutritionally superior quality of the "Original" Flourless 7-Sprouted Grains bread. For over 60 years, we've been serving the healthy conscious consumer with sprouted grain and all-natural bakery products with the same quality customers have come to expect!
Today, after more than 3 generations and over 60 different bread products, our family still maintains the original baking techniques used to make truly authentic flavorful sprouted grain breads; plus, the foresight and intuition to pioneer other naturally crafted specialty baked goods such as our world-famous Ezekiel 4:9® Bread.
Behind Food For Life products are countless hours of research and development where we've developed exclusive baking processes to ensure proper moisture levels, texture and maximum flavor without losing vital nutrients and important natural fiber. No conditioners, additives, artificial flavors, colors or preservatives are used.
We offer Breads, Buns, English Muffins, Tortillas, Pita Breads and Cereals among others. Each line includes products specifically developed to meet particular dietary requirements. Special categories include Organic, flourless, sprouted grain, low Glycemic, high fiber, gluten-free, low sodium, unsweetened, diary-free, low fat and fat-free baked goods.
